In the UK, a new bill was put up for its second reading in the House of Commons which could grant bailiffs the right to legally force entry into your homes and confiscate objects based solely on one unpaid credit card bill. This could worsen what is already seen as absurd means of conduct on account of bailiffs.

A study showed that since October 2006, 64% of bailiffs are guilty of harassing and intimidating people, 40% distorted their powers of entry, 25% threatened people with jail and 42% charged excessive fees. Citizen Advice Bureau (CAB) plans to take further action to diminish bailiffs' powers on vulnerable debtors.

One Response to “Is one unpaid credit card bill enough reason for bailiffs to enter your home?”
