Can I Move To The UK And Go Bankrupt?

Living in Ireland past 14 years, UK citizen, 1 bank debt €40,000 for beauty salon thats not doing very well. Husband has permanent job in heathrow and has already moved back to UK, i am moving in 2-3 months can I declare bankruptcy in the UK for my irish debt as irish laws are 12 years bad debter.

Their question: Also we have a house here in both our names we were hoping to rent out, is it at risk? many thanks
My daughter lives in Germany with her son. Due to being laid off, not having medical insurances etc, she has accumulated about £10,000 of debts. I think she is now too terrified to ask how much. She wants to pay them back but can't get work in her discipline. We live in France as my husband's work is there.

Their question: If we could persuade her to go back to Britain, would it be possible for her to go bankrupt or get an IVA there? Do you know if it were possible for her to go bankrupt in France and how long it would be before her debts were discharged if she couldn't pay them?
I was reading an article on a newspaper last week
is it true i can apply for bankruptcy in the uk or any eu county for loans that i cannot pay here in ireland
and if so could you provide any information to me please on my email dont have a uk number thanks

Our Services

If you have a serious debt problem, bankruptcy can free you from your debts within 12 months. As a solution for dealing with serious debt, bankruptcy is a last resort. Other debt solutions need to be explored first, to help determine if bankruptcy is the right debt solution for you.

Your financial affairs are put into the hands of an Official Receiver or Trustee, who will control all your assets - and if you own a property, this will also be included. These will be sold and the money used to pay as much as possible to your creditors.

There are consequences to bankruptcy which will affect your finances and work life. You may struggle to borrow money, for example, and will not be able to apply for certain jobs.

For some, bankruptcy is the right option and will put an end to pressure from creditors. Our team of experts are on hand to advise on the best solution to your debt problems - call now on 0800 002 9951.
