How Can I Repay A Debt From Years Ago?

Hi there, I need some advice,  i lived in the Uk for 7 years and then left. i tried to pay all my debt before i left, however i left unpaying 1400 Pounds. which was 400 with Natwest credit card and 1000 with a mint credit card. Still to this day it bugs me, especially having been such a satisfied customer with my Natwest Bank. so i wish to make a mends.

Yourquestion:   i've been out the country since Dec 2007 and have not heard from them since. I am still abroad, however i would like to approach them online and open up a normal savings account with them.  if i did this would they recognise that i used to be a customer of their's and inform me of my outstanding debt? i dont mind paying back what i used to owe. But what worries me is that, will they charge me bank charges or interest for the past 5 years?
Australian citizen, liven in the UK for 15 mths then continued traveling.

Yourquestion:   When I left the UK, I am unsure if my overdraft was at a nil balance or overdrawn. If it was overdrawn, would a warrant have now been issued? If I return to the UK for a friends wedding, will I be detained? I returned home in Oct 2005, so if there was a debt (I assume they charged me bank fees until the account went dormant or to collections) can they still make me pay this? My friend is getting married in September this year so i would be returning within the 6 year limit that I believe applies.

Our Services

If you have a serious debt problem, bankruptcy can free you from your debts within 12 months. As a solution for dealing with serious debt, bankruptcy is a last resort. Other debt solutions need to be explored first, to help determine if bankruptcy is the right debt solution for you.

Your financial affairs are put into the hands of an Official Receiver or Trustee, who will control all your assets - and if you own a property, this will also be included. These will be sold and the money used to pay as much as possible to your creditors.

There are consequences to bankruptcy which will affect your finances and work life. You may struggle to borrow money, for example, and will not be able to apply for certain jobs.

For some, bankruptcy is the right option and will put an end to pressure from creditors. Our team of experts are on hand to advise on the best solution to your debt problems - call now on 0800 002 9951.
