Can I Go Bankrupt In The UK From Australia?

Written by Jon

Hi, I moved to Australia about 2 years ago and things were going OK.  I had some credit cards and a mortgage on my property back in the UK,but I had a tenant paying me rent which coveed the mrotgage payment.  That tenant has since moved out a few months ago and I am now in arrears with the mortgage and everything.  I know it is only a matter of time before the bank repossesses the property.

I have no plans to return the the Uk and just want to go bankrupt and be done with it all.  How do I do this from Austalia?

Can I Move To England To Go Bankrupt?

Written by Jon
I live in the Republic of Ireland and have seen the value of my property drop now to the point that it is no longer nearly worth what i owe on it.  I also have many other loans that I am no longer in a position to repay.  I have read where going bankrupt in England is much easier than in ROI as our laws here are very strict and harsh.  Can I move to England to go bankrupt and what will happen?

Can I Go Bankrupt In The UK From Spain?

Written by Jon
whilst living in the uk some 12 years ago my husband died leaving no will. I subsequently remarried and have moved to spain, for the last seven years although a UK citizen. I have 2 children. Whilst in spain my former husbands family have persued me through the UK courts and I have now been presented with a court order to pay them 300,000 pounds inc legal expenses. I have no assets , do not own a house or a car and have less than 500 eurosjointly with my husband and live with my husband and children in my mothers house in spain, renting the basement. I have no income but husband recieves a police pension that we live a basic life on aided by my mother.

Yourquestion:   Can I go bankrupt in the UK or do I need to do something similar here in spain. I have no money but can return to the UK to commence bankruptcy.?
