How Can I Find Out Other Creditors If Someone Owes Me Money?

Question:

My ex boss owes myself and another employee money which has gone to tribunal. A judgement has been made saying that he does owe us which he has never disputed but claims he has no ability to pay. We have been paid some of the money by the Inland Revenue however having spoken to CAB they have advised us that we are only likely to get the rest of the money if we make him bankrupt in which case the money will be paid by the Redundancy payment office. The only problem is that it is going to cost us so much to make him bankrupt. I know for a fact the he owes the government money for PAYE and taxes and felt sure that they would have made him bankrupt for non payment but it is nearly two years on and nothing has happened yet. I have tried contacting them to see if they are planning on making him bankrupt but they say they are not at liberty to say. I really don't want to take action to make himbankrupt if they are in the processing of doing so as I can ill afford to loose the £6-700 it will cost me. I just don't know how to find out if they are taking action or not. Do you know how I can find out if they are or if any other creditors might be (he also owes the waterboard, rent and rates)? Would be grateful for any advise, Thanks Pat

Answer:

If they will not disclose what their intentions are, you will only know if they make him bankrupt after the fact as insolvencies are listed on the insolvency web site.

Thank you for letting me help you.
