Will My Wages Be Looked At In My Husband’s Bankruptcy?

Question: My husband has a previous relationship despute. she demands payment of £41000. can not pay it and she will not accept monthly payments. no choice to go bankrupt

My husband is applying for bankruptcy as the debt is his and the judgement has been made against him. will they take my wages? or just his. also if the baliffs come around after we have a sealed petiton can they take any more items?

Answer: In bankruptcy no bailiffs are sent out, so your personal property is fine.

Your wages would not be used to pay into his bankruptcy. The Receiver may ask to see your wage slips and want to know your income and the breakdown of the household bills, but you would not be required to pay into his bankruptcy.
