Can I Work Overtime In Bankruptcy?

Question:

I was declared bankrupt in January ,bit unsure about a couple things

if i earn extra overtime in a month , do i have to declare it and hand it over to offial reciever , as my car need MOT and tax and this i would use to pay for it , if i do not have a car i can not work,

Answer:

If the Official Receiver allowed you the car they would also allow you to pay for the MOT and taxes on the car as this would be a part of your allowable living expenses.

You can speak to your OR regarding the overtime, but if it is not a huge sum or a regular monthly thing, it should be fine. The OR can periodically have you revisit the income and expenditure form if they feel you have been earning a considerable amount more than you previously stated.

Thank you for letting me help you.
