Can I Receive Benefits Whilst In Bankruptcy?
Question:
I am bankrupt and my interview with the OR will take place in two weeks. I am not sure if the money will cover everything like rent, gas bill, electricity etc….
I am counting very well with my money but i am not sure if it will be enough. do i have the chance to get financial support from the council or from school for example? Perhaps reduced school meal or a reduced bus ticket or a benefit for chlothes? Please let me know what support can i get in this situation ? I am only receiving my monthly income and child benefit for my children. Thank you for your advice.
Answer:
Just because you are bankrupt does not necessarily mean you are not eligible for many of the benefits and assistances that are available.
You can inquire with your local council and also with your local CAB/Citizens Advice Bureau as to what benefits and help you are eligible for and can receive.
Thank you for letting me help you.
Jon
