MORE people than ever before in Wales are choosing to go bankrupt

More people than ever before are choosing to go bankrupt to get out of the misery of spiralling debt.
There has been a record 146 per cent increase in the number of people petitioning for their own bankruptcy in Bath - well above the national average of 85 per cent.

More people in Swindon are going broke and declaring themselves bankrupt.
Figures just released show that the number of people, while small, has doubled since this time last year and there is every chance that the increase will continue.
And those people, who have declared themselves bankrupt, have debts of about £46,500.

MSPs have urged the Executive to drop plans which could see debtors lose their homes for owing as little as £1,500.
The provision is contained in the Bankruptcy and Diligence Bill, now going through the Scottish Parliament.
But Holyrood's Enterprise Committee warned: "In our view, it would make no sense for bankruptcy proceedings to cause homelessness. The […]

Worryingly, the number of bankruptcies recorded in 2005 was much higher than the figures recorded when the British economy was last in recession […]
